Chamois



  • The chamois is a goat-antelope and are native to mountainous regions of Europe, parts of Turkey, and the south island of New Zealand
  •  It is almost extinct
  • Their horns only grow in the summer
  • They can grow up to 30 inches and 110 lb.
  • You can tell how old they are by looking at the rings on their horns
  • Their coat turns dark brown in the summertime and light gray in the wintertime
  • They can live up to 20 years
  • Adults males don't live in herds while the younger ones live with their mothers in herds
  • They are hunted for their meat and leather
