Birds

 

Birds are amazing winged animals that have very intricate designs. Many birds that are kept as pets prefer to have a "friend', so that it doesn't get lonely while its owner is away. Hummingbirds lay the smallest eggs. Ostriches lay the largest. Penguins are the only birds that swim but don't fly. They are also the only birds that walk upright.

 

Owls can turn their heads almost 360 degrees, but they cannot move their eyes. Birds' eyes take up about 50% of their head. Humans' eyes take up about 5% of our head. Males usually have the prettier coloring, better feather shapes, and more beautiful songs to attract mates.

 

The first bird domesticated by a human being was the goose. Birds eat twice their weight each day. So when people say "you eat like a bird", it usually isn't the truth. Chickens that lay brown eggs have red earlobes. Mockingbirds can imitate naturally-parrots have to be taught to do so. Though mockingbirds can't talk like parrots can learn to, they can mimic many different sounds.  Info Credit

Can birds deliver messages?

Carrier Pigeons are able to deliver messages for as many 1800 km. They usually go only one way but can be trained to deliver messages both ways. They can also be trained to carry messages in flocks.

Peregrine Falcon - The fastest bird in the world

The peregrine falcon is a bird that hunts on other birds mid-flight.

This bird is common to all continents of the world except antarctica and is also

 the worlds most common bird of prey. The bird is the fastest in the world 

             and will fly above its prey and will swoop down at a speed of up to 200 miles per hour! The falcon will impale its prey with its beak and take its body to a clear place to land to eat it.

The Amazing Mimic Birds

The Lyre Bird is a really cool bird that posses the ability to mimic stuff. These birds are very curios creatures that God have created. They basically will eat anything think that's small and that's an invertebrate (bugs or animals the have exoskeletons). When surprised or threatened the spread their tails that kinda look like a miniature brown peacock.
